Work directly with the company owner to support effective cash flow management and smart day-to-day decisions as the business continues to grow, overseeing a small support team.

Accounting Manager – Your Job Duties
You will lead and oversee the company’s finance and accounting operation, as part of a small team of a total of 3 accountants, including yourself. You will:
- Own and oversee the accounting department and team, including overseeing the work of 2 other accountants (AR and AP) and serving as back up and point of escalation when needed
- Oversee the general ledger, including daily transactions, journal entries, and adjusting journal entries
- Prepare month-end close and annual close, including all reconciliations needed for close, and financial statements
- Present financial statements and results of operations in monthly leadership meetings
- Monitor accounts payable/accounts receivable (AP/AR), cash flow, cash collections, and aging reports
- Identify areas of improvement with company cash flow, reduce expenses, and streamline operations
- Run the company payroll (using third-party payroll software)
- Prepare statements and information for third-party auditors and annual financial audits
- Prepare financial job costing reports and statements for project manager performance reviews
- Oversee financial management of workers' compensation and general liability insurance programs
This role is physically located in an office in Concord, Monday through Friday.
Accounting Manager – Required Skills, Experience, and Fit
You have:
- GAAP accounting knowledge to perform complex journal entries, perform month end close processes and oversee the work of the accounting assistants for AR, AP and payroll
- A small business mindset – you understand the importance of cash flow management and have effectively owned cashflow management in your past experiences
- Task and time management skills, consistently meeting critical financial deadlines and effectively managing priorities
- Dependability, honestly and trustworthiness - you do what you say, when you say you will, and we can count on you
- Strong MS Excel skills and comfort navigating and preparing complex and multi-tab spreadsheets
- Prior experience overseeing and leading a small team – you enjoy mentoring, managing and working in a role where you are both leading and working hands on
You might have:
- Prior experience with Foundation ERP accounting software
- Accounting experience with job costing
- Prior accounting experience with a construction service business (ie: HVAC, plumbing, roofing or related)
Accounting Manager – Your Perks & Compensation
Your compensation will be $100,000 - $125,000 annual salary
