Inventory Accounting Manager

About The Role

Our client is seeking a strategic and detail-driven Inventory Accounting Manager to oversee all aspects of inventory accounting and reporting. This role is critical in ensuring accurate financial records, optimizing inventory processes, and supporting operational efficiency across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the accounting and reconciliation of inventory transactions across multiple locations
• Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices
• Analyze inventory variances and provide actionable insights to operations and finance leadership
• Collaborate with supply chain, operations, and finance teams to ensure accurate costing and valuation
• Lead month-end and year-end inventory close processes, including journal entries and reporting
• Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries related to inventory
• Monitor and improve internal controls related to inventory and cost accounting
• Review work, develop and train staff members
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred)
• 5+ years of experience in inventory accounting, cost accounting, or related roles
• Strong understanding of GAAP and inventory valuation methods
• Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Oracle)
• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical mindset
• Excellent communication and leadership skills
