The right candidate for this position is someone with extensive experience in Safety who will support our projects by integrating safety initiatives into project operations, maintaining processes and procedures to prevent injuries and violations, and minimize environmental impact.

About the role

Are you a hands-on accounting leader with a passion for precision, process improvement, and team development? We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our growing finance team and drive operational excellence and financial integrity. Under the general direction of the Senior Financial Controller, the Accounting Manager will maintain financial and business transactions, applying accounting principles with analytical, evaluative, and advisory responsibilities.

What you'll do

  • Perform, manage, train, and supervise team members in internal controls related to Financial Reporting, Month End close, Labor Accounting, Payroll, Accounts Payable, Project Accounting and Invoicing, Fixed Assets, Inventory, and Tax Compliance.
  • Perform and manage the general ledger, including analysis, reconciliations, and journal entries; manage balance sheet reconciliations in a timely manner.
  • Manage all company bank accounts, including bank reconciliation, weekly cash flow, and payments (ACH and Checks).
  • Prepare Payroll Taxes, State Sales Taxes by state, and other required state reporting.
  • Verify accuracy of job costs and reconcile sub-ledgers to the general ledger (A/P, A/R, cash management, inventory, equipment, payroll, WIP).
  • Execute and manage Month End close/financial reporting to facilitate year-end preparation with the external CPA firm.
  • Develop actionable insights from technical and financial data, minimize risk, and identify growth opportunities; manage cash flow including forecasting.
  • Monitor internal controls to minimize financial risk and safeguard assets.
  • Prepare and monitor debt schedules as required.
  • Supervise and build a strong accounting and office team to fit the company’s needs.
  • Develop accounting policies, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Manage and perform other duties consistent with the role of an accounting professional.
  • Assist the Senior Controller with annual audit requests.

Qualifications

  • Technical and analytical capacity with deep understanding of GAAP.
  • Percentage of Completion Revenue Recognition.

  • Challenge the status quo; drive change with fiscal accountability.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance with 5+ years as an Accounting Manager or Assistant Controller for a mid-sized company that provides services and manufactures products.
  • Public accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with ViewPoint and/or other ERP systems.
  • High level of accuracy, precision, and attention to detail; strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills; professional presence and attitude.
  • Texas Driver’s License preferred.
