Duties and Responsibilities


Velox Clearing is looking for a dedicated person who has the understanding and practical skills of accounting and financial mechanics. This person will support the finance department in a variety of tasks and help to provide updates, corrective actions, and analysis for the department.



  • Balance sheet reconciliation and analysis.

  • Processing client deposits and withdrawals.

  • Compiling and processing data for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and monthly/quarterly/annual financials.

  • Work closely with other departments to monitor daily cash flow.

  • Prepare and process vendor payments.

  • Perform general accounts analyses and reconciliations, including bank statements, fixed assets, accruals, and prepaid expenses.

  • Review, investigate, and resolve accounting errors, discrepancies, and reconciling items.

  • Assist with internal/external audits and respond to inquiries.

  • Assist Managers with various accounting, tax, and administrative duties.

  • Prepare monthly expense analyses and explain trends/variances.


Qualifications



  • 2-3 years of experience in a related position.

  • Good understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

  • Self-motivated.

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and good communication skills.

  • Team player.

  • Ability to efficiently handle a multitude of tasks accurately.

  • Knowledge of SEC and FINRA rules and regulations is a plus.

  • Ability to recognize and learn from mistakes and absolute integrity.


Education Requirements



  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related discipline.


License or Certification Requirements



  • Interest in completing the FINRA license Series 99 is a plus.
