About the Role:

Our Consumer Products client is looking for an Inventory Accounting Manager to join their team. This Company is fast-growing with multiple thriving brands. This position will manage general accounting and inventory accounting. Their ideal candidate must have inventory accounting experience and come from a Consumer Goods or similar industry.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process, which includes review or preparation of journal entries, review of balance sheet reconciliations and analysis of balance sheet and income statement.
• Analyzing and collecting data to determine costs of inventory, such as direct costs and overhead.
• Perform inventory accounting activities including inventory variance reviews and analysis and reporting of inventory.
• Automating reporting and analysis using advanced Excel and Access tools, such as pivot tables and queries.
• Oversee inventory valuation using FIFO, LIFO, or weighted cost methods.
• Preparing spending and variance analysis.
• Responsible for internal controls, financial control documentation and testing, and supporting audits.
• Ensuring that items are correctly classified, and statements are prepared in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Drive process improvements in the accounting and reporting of inventory and in-licensing collaborations.
• Assisting in the analytical and/or strategic function, including the development of budgeting, planning, and forecasting.
• Ability to manage and allocate resources, set priorities, and coordinate with various departments and third-party vendors.
• Providing management with key performance indicators for decision-making purposes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a similar degree
• Experience in the Consumer Products industry is required.
• Inventory Accounting experience is required.
• CPA License is preferred
