The Role
The Accounting Manager will serve as a hands-on leader responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, financial accuracy, and timely reporting. This role will be pivotal in maintaining our strong financial foundation as we scale. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance & Administration, the Accounting Manager will manage core accounting functions, support budgeting and forecasting processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to grow into a future leadership position within the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Operations
- Manage general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards.
- Ensure all transactions are accurately recorded and supported by proper documentation.
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation calculations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support cash flow forecasting and expense tracking.
- Partner with the VP of Finance & Admin on annual budgeting and reforecasting cycles.
- Provide variance analysis and insights to help guide business decisions.
- Ensure compliance with sales/use tax and income tax requirements in coordination with external tax advisors.
- Maintain proper internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Support annual financial audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Work with the VP of Finance & Admin to implement process improvements that drive efficiency and accuracy.
- Maintain and optimize accounting software, ERP, and related financial systems.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the finance team's day-to-day accounting matters.
- Work closely with the VP of Finance & Admin to gain exposure to higher-level strategic finance responsibilities.
- Take ownership of professional development, working toward readiness to lead the full finance function in the future.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; experience in retail, e-commerce, or manufacturing preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and standard accounting procedures.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (NetSuite experience is a plus) and accounting tools such as Bill.com, Avalara, or similar.
- Strong Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting.
- Experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy.
