Job Title: DAEP Secretary

Exemption Status/Test: Nonexempt

Reports to: Coordinator of DAEP

Primary Purpose:

Ensure efficient operation of the campus office and provide clerical services for the campus coordinator and staff.

Under moderate supervision, provide routine clerical support for the efficient operation of the campus office and professional staff. Maintain current and accurate confidential student records. Provide classroom coverage for professional staff during lunch breaks and conference periods. Complete requisitions at the direction of the campus coordinator and submit to the LISD Business Office.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

High school diploma or GED

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Proficient keyboarding and file maintenance skills

Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and do word processing

Ability to maintain accurate and auditable records

Knowledge of basic accounting principles

Ability to follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice

Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
  1. Compile information and submit to the central office according to established procedures and deadlines.
  2. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required. Maintain records according to established procedures.
  3. Assist in the preparation and implementation of the DAEP Budget.
Reception and Phones
  1. Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff.
  2. Assist students, staff, and parents as needed.
  3. Schedule meetings and appointments and maintain a calendar for the DAEP Coordinator.
Other
  1. Maintain confidentiality.
  2. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including a personal computer and peripherals

Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting

Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
