Primary Purpose:
Under moderate supervision organize and manage the routine work activities of a central administrative department office and provide clerical support to a director or department head and other staff members.
Responsible for:
- Clerical services for School Nutrition Services Department
- Maintenance of Free and Reduced meal applications
- Maintenance of Point of Sale system
- Work in various Microsoft Office programs such as MS Excel and MS Word
- Work with managers at schools and vendors
- Work in cafeteria units when necessary
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient skills in keyboarding, data entry, word processing, and file maintenance
Ability to use software to develop spreadsheets and databases and do word processing
Ability to prioritize workflow to address the multiple needs of the supervisor or the department
Ability to multi-task numerous complex administrative activities
Basic math skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful
Experience:
1 year secretarial experience
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Records, Reports, and Correspondence
- Process Free and Reduced applications and maintain database.
- Assist in maintaining Point of Sale system.
- May assist with ordering groceries and supplies for each campus and distribute as necessary.
- Receive incoming calls, take reliable messages, and route to appropriate staff. Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents as required.

- Sort, distribute, or deliver mail and other documents.
- Train and support cafeteria cashiers on specific functions and regulations regarding identification of reimbursable meals. Ensure understanding of basic accounting reports to include daily cash sheets and monthly inventory.

- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, responsible, and serve as a role model for all district staff.

FISD contributes $365 monthly towards TRS health insurance.
