Job Opportunity: Legal Secretary - Litigation Division

The Department of Justice, Office of Attorney General Liz Murrill, is seeking applications for a Legal Secretary in the Litigation Division. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Location: Shreveport, Louisiana, Caddo Parish.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma
  • Valid driver's license
  • Tact and good judgment
  • High ethics and integrity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Effective command of English (spoken and written)
  • Excellent time management and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency with email, calendar, word processing, databases, and ability to learn new software

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform legal secretarial duties for attorneys or sections
  • Assist in preparing legal documents
  • Proofread and edit correspondence and reports
  • Ensure proper mailing and submission of documents
  • Maintain case files
  • Prepare materials for meetings, hearings, or trials
  • Input billing and administrative data
  • Serve as time administrator for the section
  • Perform other duties as assigned
