Join the MercyOne Family! We are hiring a Unit Secretary.
As a Unit Secretary, you will perform clerical and receptionist duties, transcribe physician orders, schedule tests, manage patient records, and provide communication support under the supervision of the Clinical Director. You will demonstrate professionalism aligned with MercyOne's mission and standards.
Schedule: 36 hours/week, Monday-Thursday, 7:00am - 4:30pm.
General Requirements:
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral
  • Legible handwriting
  • Assertiveness when necessary
  • Ability to handle interruptions
  • Organizational skills
  • Polite, compassionate attitude, responsive to patient and family needs
  • Receptionist duties including screening calls and routing visitors
  • Transcribing orders, maintaining equipment, and managing supplies
  • Promoting customer satisfaction and effective relationships
  • Clerical duties such as chart assembly and report compilation
  • Supporting patient/family needs with respect to age and culture
  • Meeting nursing competency requirements
Education: High school diploma or GED required. Higher education degrees that require a high school diploma or GED are acceptable. Clerical and computer experience preferred; knowledge of medical terminology is a plus.
