Position Overview:
Pinckney Community Schools is seeking a passionate and dedicated Secretary to support the PCHS Counseling Office. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a welcoming and student-centered environment while demonstrating a strong commitment to academic excellence and student well-being.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Demonstrated knowledge, experience, and aptitude in the use of technology and technology applications: specifically MiStar and the Google Suite, including Google Sheets, Docs, and Canva.
- Superb and efficient keyboarding skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with staff, students, parents, and the public.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Demonstrated clerical skills including filing, maintaining accurate records, report generation, and operating various business machines.
- Ability to initiate, handle, and follow through on various assignments with limited direct supervision.
- Ability to understand the “big picture” and help redesign and improve department procedures and systems.
- Limited knowledge of first aid procedures.
- Ability to manage and maintain a Counseling Office environment that is calm, welcoming, and supportive, while demonstrating firmness to uphold student accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to school counselors, including managing student appointments, reports, and communications.
- Coordinate counseling-related events such as Academic Awards Night, Senior Awards Night, and Prospective Student Shadow Day.
- Oversee the Counseling Office front desk operations, including phone reception, visitor check-ins, and student supervision.
- Maintain student records in MiStar, including grades, PE waivers, personal curricula, attendance, and enrollment/withdrawal data.
- Manage the district Parchment account for transcript processing and upload.
- Support college, military, and employer visits, and maintain the Counseling Office calendar and conference room scheduling.
- Assist with audits, count day, and reporting for graduation and diploma-related processes.
- Ensure confidentiality and proper disposal of sensitive documents; maintain office supplies and workspace organization.
- Collaborate with internal teams and community resources to support student needs, including food/clothing access and homelessness alerts.
- Maintain and update CA-60 files and emergency contact information, including data for out-of-district and CTE students.

focus. The ability to travel to other buildings is required. The position requires the individual to sometimes work irregular or extended work hours and meet multiple demands from several people.
