Reports To: Assembly + Paint Lead
Summary
The Assembler plays a critical role in the American Fan team. This position involves working with the immediate team and other departments to build and test fans and blowers. Good communication and verbal skills are essential, and building relationships with internal and external customers is encouraged.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assemble fans and blowers according to instructions, including balancing blades.
- Perform final inspections for defects and ensure inclusion of appropriate accessories and motors.
- Report malfunctions, damages, or repair needs to the Lead.
- Accurately process administrative tasks such as time sheets and scrap reports.
- Use required PPE according to safety requirements.
- Test finished products for balance and RPM after appropriate training.
- Familiarity with ERP systems.
- Work with cranes as needed.
- Understand basic electricity for testing purposes.
- Adapt quickly to changing business needs.
- Embodies FMD values of Integrity, Velocity, and Teamwork.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret documents, diagrams, and schedules.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain it.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to identify and measure materials.
- Good coordination, motor skills, and dexterity.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow safety procedures.
- Familiarity with hand and pneumatic tools.
- Mechanical or electrical background is a plus.
