Summary
Manages or performs work associated with all aspects of activities, services, technology, and products that IT provides and IT governance to ensure that IT investments sustain and extend its strategies and objectives. This includes providing direction and developing information technology strategies, policies, and plans, performing maintenance of information technology resources, training and supporting technology users, providing network and communications services, data governance and management, IT governance framework, processes, management and performance reporting of IT services, as well as AGILe (Advanced Grid Innovation Lab for Energy), digital transformation, and research and development services. Manages all activities necessary to enable to anticipate, prevent, and respond to technology interruptions.
Ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of client information through the establishment of security controls, governance instruments (policies, standards) and associated processes. Provides governance and oversight to ensure that appropriate security measures are designed and architected into IT solutions and services and that vulnerabilities are identified and remediated. Monitors technology landscape to detect and respond to threats.
Responsibilities
Influence the technology strategy through in-depth understanding of customer needs and technical understanding to align business outcomes to technology strategy and roadmaps.
Synthesize new, emerging technologies and proactively identify those that will advance key business strategies.
Create and maintain enterprise architecture standards and frameworks which support the Technology strategy within one or more specific disciplines of Enterprise Architecture.
Review and approve projects and work efforts to ensure that they are compliant with architectural standards, policies, and guidelines. Iterative refinement and direction of governance activities ensuring compliance with the enterprise architecture.
Anticipate business needs and trends and the direction technology must take to properly support the business. Consider costs and benefits associated with technology direction and the implications of maintaining the status quo; perform trade-off analyses.
Maintain state-of-the-art knowledge of enterprise architecture technologies through leading, interacting and discussing subject area with industry peers, vendors, and consultants.
Engage in significant interaction at senior management levels.
Skills & Abilities Expert ability to produce, articulate, implement, and enhance Enterprise Architecture concepts, roadmaps, principles, or effective strategies.
Mastery of utility business, data, and information service-oriented architectures.
Expert knowledge of business process including disaster recovery, business continuity and risk management.
Demonstrated expert ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
Expert ability to guide the implementation of business aligned IT strategic plans.
Expertise understanding of corporate policy and business strategy.
Expert ability to identify and describe the relationship between artifacts. Artifacts are a description of a collection of entities that describe an enterprise.
