What You'll Do
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage the full project lifecycle for various cybersecurity initiatives, including but not limited to:
- Security infrastructure upgrades (e.g., firewall, SIEM, IDS/IPS).
- Implementation of new security tools and technologies.
- Vulnerability management and penetration testing programs.
- Incident response and disaster recovery plan development.
- Security awareness training programs.
- Compliance and audit readiness projects (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, SOC 2).
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, engineering, legal, and business units, to define project scope, requirements, and deliverables.
- Planning and Execution: Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget management. Monitor project progress and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate project risks and issues. Develop contingency plans and escalate critical issues to senior management as needed.
- Communication: Provide regular, clear, and concise project updates to all stakeholders, including senior leadership. Prepare and present project status reports and presentations.
- Methodology: Utilize and champion best-practice project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) tailored to the specific needs of each project.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors involved in cybersecurity projects.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in project management, with at least 3 years specifically managing cybersecurity or IT security projects.
- Proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity domains, including network security, application security, cloud security, and data protection.
- Experience with project management software (e.g., Jira, Asana, Microsoft Project).
- Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Qualifications
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) certification.
- Certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+).
- Experience with regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR, PCI-DSS).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security services.
