Job Description Summary
Reporting to the GridBeats Cybersecurity NPI Product Manager, the Cybersecurity Product Owner (PO) is a team player. He/she is a member of the Agile Team responsible for defining Stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog to streamline the execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of the features or components for the team. The PO has a significant role in maximizing the value produced by the team and ensuring stories meet the user’s needs and comply with the Definition of Done. This role has significant relationships and responsibilities outside the local team, including working with Product Management, Customers, Business Owners, and other stakeholders.
The PO is involved in program backlog refinement, PI planning preparation, and ensures alignment with the program vision, Roadmap, and content presentations. The PO collaborates with the team and stakeholders to define and elaborate stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritize work to maximize value and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation and Participation in PI Planning as a member of the extended Product Management team; update the team backlog and contribute to the program vision, Roadmap, and content presentations.
- During PI planning, define stories, provide clarifications for story estimates, and help determine team PI objectives.
- Maintain and prioritize the team backlog (stories, defects, enablers) with input from System Architect/Engineering and other stakeholders; coordinate dependencies with other POs; communicate story details and priorities during iteration planning.
- Just-in-time story elaboration and ensuring proper flow of backlog items; collaboration to detail stories with acceptance criteria and examples (BDD approach).
- Accepting stories: ensure stories meet acceptance criteria, have appropriate acceptance tests, and comply with the Definition of Done; ensure fitness for use and quality.
- Understand enabler work and assist with decision-making and sequencing of critical technological infrastructures with Architects/Engineering; establish capacity allocation as described in team backlog.
- Participate in team demos and retrospectives; collaborate with stakeholders in I&A workshops of the ART.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Technology or Engineering.
- 8+ years’ experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role within software development, ideally with exposure to OT or cybersecurity domains.
- Strong understanding of OT environments (e.g., SCADA, DCS, PLCs) and cybersecurity challenges in industrial settings.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443).
- Agile mindset; experience with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Strong collaboration, leadership and influencing skills; experience with Git and SCM branching strategies.
- Experience with Change management and culture change in R&D and cross-matrix processes.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies, licensing models; product management certifications (CSPO, PSPO) are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this position is 130,500.00 - 174,000.00 USD annually. The specific pay offered may be influenced by experience, education, and skill set. This position is eligible for a 15% annual variable incentive bonus.
