Overview
GridBeats Cybersecurity Software Product Owner at GE Vernova. The Product Owner (PO) is a member of the Agile Team responsible for defining stories and prioritizing the team backlog to streamline execution of program priorities while maintaining the conceptual and technical integrity of features or components. The PO maximizes value produced by the team and ensures stories meet user needs and the Definition of Done. This role has relationships with Product Management, Customers, Business Owners, and other stakeholders outside the local team.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and participate in PI Planning as a member of the extended Product Management team; refine the program backlog and contribute to the planning event; update the team backlog and contribute to the program vision, roadmap, and content presentations.
- During PI Planning or execution, assist with story definition, provide clarifications for estimates and sequencing, and help determine the team PI objectives for the upcoming PI.
- Maintain the team backlog with input from System Architect/Engineering and other stakeholders; prioritize backlog items based on user value, time, and dependencies; coordinate with other POs for dependency management; support Iteration Planning with detailed story priorities and alignment on the iteration plan.
- Elaborate backlog items into user stories when needed, maintaining proper flow and acceptance criteria; collaborate with the team on acceptance tests and criteria using Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) as appropriate.
- Accept stories by validating acceptance criteria and persistent acceptance tests, ensuring compliance with the Definition of Done and fitness for use.
- Understand enabler work and collaborate with System and Solution Architects/Engineering to sequence critical technology infrastructures; establish capacity allocation as described in the Team Backlog framework.
- Participate in team demos and retrospectives; engage in the Agile Release Train’s Inspect and Adapt workshop with stakeholders.
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology, or engineering.
- 8+ years of experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role within software development, ideally with exposure to OT or cybersecurity domains.
- Strong understanding of OT environments (e.g., SCADA, DCS, PLCs) and cybersecurity challenges in industrial settings.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity standards and regulations (e.g., NIST, IEC 62443).
- Agile mindset and experience with agile project management tools (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps).
- Strong collaboration, leadership, and influencing skills to drive transformation.
- Experience with Git and SCM branching strategies.
- Experience with change management and cross-matrix processes in R&D contexts.
- Understanding of virtualization technologies, strategies, and licensing models.
- Product management certifications (e.g., CSPO, PSPO) are a plus.
Compensation and Benefits
The base pay range for this position is 130,500.00 - 174,000.00 USD annually. The offer may be influenced by experience, education, and skill set. Eligible for a 15% annual variable incentive bonus.
Geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% may apply in certain areas.
