Overview

Our firm is seeking an associate attorney to assist us in handling insurance defense claims out of our Atlanta, GA office. While applicants from all geographic locations will be considered, a successful candidate must be willing to reside within a reasonable commute to/from our firm’s Atlanta, GA office.

Responsibilities

• Assist in handling insurance defense claims.

Qualifications

• Has at least 4-5 years of experience in insurance defense, preferably from a workers’ compensation defense background.
• Has a functioning understanding of civil procedure from pleadings to trial.
• Is familiar with the basics of propounding and responding to discovery in civil cases.
• Is licensed to practice law in the State of Georgia (additional states/jurisdictions are a plus).
• A successful candidate should be congenial, able to work proactively, both independently and as a team member, and demonstrate strong analytical, writing, research, and communication skills.

Education and Experience

• Up to 5 years of experience in insurance defense; workers’ compensation defense experience highly desirable but not required.
• J.D. and bachelor’s degrees from an accredited institution(s) required.
• Licensed to practice law in Georgia.
• History of academic success.

Compensation

Commensurate with experience, starting at $130,000.00; 401(k) with matching; incentive bonus program for additional compensation. Employer-based health insurance, including vision and dental.
