Lidl US is searching for the next Real Estate Manager to join our team in the Atlanta area. The Real Estate Manager manages all aspects of the real estate acquisition and development process in the implementation of the regional real estate strategy. This role successfully delivers new site acquisitions and store entitlements within set timelines and budgets. Applicants must live in commutable distance to Atlanta, GA.

What You’ll Do

  • Effectively delegate and guide the work of other team members in accordance with Company principles and management model
  • Implement and manage assigned programs, processes and initiatives through effective delegation and collaboration with stakeholders
  • Analyze and evaluate current processes and projects for recommended optimization
  • Manage regional market analysis, site identification, internal approvals, due diligence, acquisition, and entitlement processes in line with company goals and objectives
  • Analyze markets within assigned territory to identify the best sites for Lidl US to fulfill the strategy and meet expansion goals
  • Present information, including market drives, to Senior Leadership, including Board members, on proposed projects to obtain approvals
  • Develop and cultivate relationships with landowners, brokers, developers, potential business partners, and professional organizations
  • Oversee and direct activities and communications between stakeholders, consultants and contractors including brokers, engineers, architects, and attorneys to deliver stores within appropriate time frames
  • Implement and execute the regional real estate strategy for new site acquisitions and stores constructed within set timelines and budgets

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Knowledge of real estate acquisition and lease process, real estate and contract law, retail real estate markets, real estate valuation, development entitlement processes for assigned regions, and best practices of real estate project management
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
  • Proficiency in project management, budget management, and other customized software systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software

Education, Certifications/Licenses, Related Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Urban Planning, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in a related field
  • In lieu of degree, 5+ years of experience in related field will meet the education and related experience requirements listed above

Travel Requirements

  • This position commutes between stores, regional offices, potential store sites, construction sites, and/or distribution centers up to 50% of the time
  • This position requires overnight domestic travel up to 25% of the time
