Entry-Level Geologists - Networking Event with AECOM – Philadelphia
AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Philadelphia on October 9-10, 2025. This is a great opportunity to learn about career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026 and to connect with AECOM staff, students, and professionals from across our business lines. The event begins with a networking mixer on Thursday evening (6-8 pm) and on Friday interviews will take place at our Philadelphia office.
AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Geologist to join our Remediation team in the Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, or Virginia offices. The successful candidate will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering professional consulting services to our key clients. This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026 and is field-based (approximately 80% field work and 20% office-based).
This role may require travel outside of New York and New Jersey to support projects across the United States.
Responsibilities
- Performing routine fieldwork under supervision, including soil, sediment, surface water and/or groundwater sampling, operation and maintenance of remedial systems, and drilling and remedial construction oversight including subcontractor management.
- Participating in site visits and coordinating and assisting field staff as required.
- Working within budget and schedule under supervision.
- Developing knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations and job specifications.
- Collecting and analyzing data under the supervision of an experienced scientist/engineer.
- Preparing progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Attending meetings and reporting on project tasks.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Geology or related field + 0 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this role
- Valid US Driver's License is required; candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience and/or coursework related to environmental remediation
- Proficiency in GIS and Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with data visualization tools
- Experience with field and/or construction documentation
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification
Additional Information
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position
- Hybrid work schedule; in-office work in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, or Virginia; be available to work in these states on a scheduled basis
Offered compensation is location and qualification dependent; expected range is $60,000.00 - $80,000.00.
