Practice Administrator - Hospitalists, Indianapolis Metro Region

The Practice Administrator - Hospitalists, Indianapolis Metro Region joins the Indianapolis Metro Region (IMR) leadership team to lead practice operations.

The Practice Administrator - Hospitalists, Indianapolis Metro Region plans and directs the operational activities of the medical practices operated by the organization. This leader oversees adherence to organization policies and proper communication to and involvement of subordinate personnel regarding Practice Operations. The Practice Administrator plans, organizes and directs daily operations to include staffing, practice growth and improvement, financial performance and customer service. The leader is accountable for operational and financial performance results of medical practices.

Key Relationships

Reports to: Service Line Administrator - Hospitalists, Indianapolis Metro Region.

Education and Experience

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Business Administration or other closely related field.
  • Master of Health Administration or Master of Business Administration degree preferred.
  • Requires 7-10 years of experience as a Health Professional.
  • A minimum of five years of progressively more responsible related work experience in an ambulatory setting with three to five years of concurrent management experience in order to gain knowledge of administration and operation of physician practices.
  • Thorough knowledge of health care delivery and management, basic accounting and finance, and health care legislation.
  • Requires knowledge of benchmarking and Best Practice research.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and applications is required.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/move/carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.
