Matthews International is hiring: Warehouse Worker in Plainfield

Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Full Time Warehouse Associate to join our team at our Indianapolis, IN (Plainfield IN area) Distribution HUB. Matthews International is a world wide leader in casket manufacturing, providing the highest quality wood, metal and cremation caskets, as well as urns and memorial jewelry to funeral home customers. This position will be responsible for unloading and loading caskets onto and off our vehicles, as well as preparations for deliveries and providing support in diverse warehouse activities.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload caskets and other memorialization products from various production facilities.
• Prepare products for delivery and unload products to be stored in the warehouse.
• Scan products, pull correct orders and maintain a clean work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ years of previous warehouse experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts on your feet, walking, pushing, and pulling products.
• Reliable transportation to get to and from work every day.
• Ability to work overtime when needed.

PHYSICAL ASPECTS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and communicate verbally and visually.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Noise level in the work environment may be high.
