Job Summary:

Performs clerical duties such as filing, answering the phone and other general office duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Responsible for data input of referrals into PROTECT from law enforcement agencies and all other agencies that refer cases for prosecution to this office.

-Issues subpoenas and writs for court dates.

-Schedules and reset court dates on Attorney’s calendar. Retrieves files for all Attorney’s court appearances.

-Answer phone calls, record and forward messages to Attorneys.

-Must be able to maintain confidentiality with respect to the information in the office.

-Retrieve files for the Attorneys’ court appearances.

-Acts as department receptionist, greet customers, answer questions.

-Maintain Attorney calendars regarding court-scheduling and notices from the courts.

-Assist with intake of worthless check referrals and payments.

-Photocopy documents and file documents and things received at the office.

-Provides back-up support for legal secretaries as needed.

-Opens, sorts, dates, if necessary distribute mail and perhaps articles for mailing.

-Update legal publications.

-Other duties as assigned.

WORK REQUIREMENTS :
-High School Diploma or GED required.
-One year degree in Office Assistant, or at least one-year equivalent work experience.
