The Front Office Assistant presents a professional image of Community Housing Network when answering telephones and greeting visitors in the reception area. This position provides general office support with various clerical duties and related tasks.

What you will do in the role:
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service: Respond promptly and politely to incoming calls, answer inquiries, or direct them to the appropriate staff.
  • Front Desk Ambassador:Greet residents, prospective residents, and guests with courtesy; manage sign-ins; ensure the reception area is organized and welcoming; assist visitors or direct them to staff as needed.
  • Rent Payment Facilitation: Receive and securely process rent payments via lockbox, mail, or in person; record tenant information, time/date-stamp payments, and issue receipts when applicable.
  • General Office Support: Handle incoming/outgoing mail, manage fax deliveries, process housing applications, and provide administrative assistance as needed.
  • Other Duties:Support organizational initiatives, train and guide staff, interns, and volunteers; perform additional tasks as assigned; actively contribute to CHN's community and operations.
Qualifications

What you bring to the role:
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in customer service or office environment.
  • Previous experience working with homeless, mentally ill, or substance-using populations is helpful but not required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Products and ability to learn and adapt to changing technology utilized in role.
  • Proficient in the use of standard office equipment such as computers, multi-line phones, postage, and multifunction machines.
