Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Banquet Cook prepares high-quality dishes for events such as weddings, golf tournaments, corporate gatherings, and special occasions. Ensure meals are prepared and presented to the highest standards, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to banquet event orders, ensuring accuracy, quality, and consistency.
- Complete all necessary food prep tasks and cook menu items using appropriate techniques (grill, sauté, bake, fry) while accommodating dietary preferences or restrictions.
- Plate and garnish dishes with precision to reflect the event’s theme or style.
- Coordinate timing with the banquet team to ensure timely service and correct temperatures according to banquet event orders.
- Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process and manage inventory; communicate needs to management to ensure timely orders and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with the culinary team, banquet servers, Catering Sales Manager, and others to ensure seamless execution of banquet events.
- Follow safety standards and use appropriate safety equipment; maintain personal hygiene guidelines.
Education And Experience
- High school diploma or GED; culinary degree or certification is preferred but not required.
- Minimum one year of cooking experience (line and/or prep) in a banquet or catering setting is preferred.
Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of cooking techniques, culinary terminology, and banquet service protocols.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, multitask, and prioritize under pressure.
- Attention to detail and a passion for creating memorable banquet experiences.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills; ability to collaborate with kitchen staff and other restaurant staff.
- Highly organized with good time management and ability to manage multiple orders.
- Adaptable to changes and compliant with food safety regulations.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
- Unexpired Arizona food certifications; must be at least 19 years of age.
- Position may require a valid driver’s license for golf cart use.
Other
- Regular attendance; additional hours including weekends may be required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and deadlines; seek supervisory assistance as needed.
Physical Demands
The role involves standing, walking, and frequent handling of objects; lifting between 25 and 50 pounds; vision and auditory requirements; and time-pressured, high-activity work conditions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.
Work Environment

Pay And Benefits
Starting Pay: $21 per hour
