Overview

The Print Production Assistant supports the production team in coordinating, preparing, and delivering high-quality printed materials. This role requires attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. The Print Production Assistant ensures projects run smoothly from file preparation through final delivery, maintaining quality standards and production timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing digital files for print, including proofing, pre-flighting, and formatting.
• Support production staff with printing, binding, finishing, and packaging processes.
• Operate and maintain printing and finishing equipment under supervision.
• Monitor quality control to ensure accuracy, color consistency, and compliance with client specifications.
• Track inventory of paper, inks, and supplies; notify supervisor when stock is low.
• Coordinate job tickets, schedules, and delivery logistics.
• Maintain organized production files and records.
• Communicate with internal teams and vendors regarding job status and requirements.
• Follow safety procedures and keep production areas clean and organized.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree in Graphic Communications, Printing, or related field preferred).
• Prior experience in a print shop, production, or similar environment a plus.
• Basic knowledge of printing processes (digital, offset, large-format) preferred.
• Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is an advantage.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to lift and move materials up to 40 lbs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience with production assistance and quality control is beneficial.
• Experience in a fast-paced print shop or production environment is a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications are a plus.

Location: San Antonio, TX

Compensation: $36,000.00-$60,000.00
