Job Overview
This position reports to the Vice President of Real Estate and Business Services and is responsible for hiring, training, motivating, mentoring the mortgage units sales force, and managing the origination process for the credit union’s mortgage loans. The Mortgage Production Assistant Manager assists the VP in achieving departmental goals, including mortgage originator production volume, business development, pipeline management, and loan quality. The role oversees the mortgage origination staff, ensuring compliance with all regulatory, agency, investor, and Raiz policies, and is responsible for successful audits. The individual will also be expected to maintain personal mortgage loan production and lead by example in volume and quality.
This individual should possess strong leadership qualities, a sales-oriented mentality, analytical skills, and the ability to monitor and oversee the mortgage loan origination process and staff, including loan pricing and profitability.

Qualifications
Skills and Experience
- Associate's degree or minimum 60 college credits
- At least 5 years of mortgage lending experience
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience
- Strong understanding of financial industry laws, mortgage processes, and documentation
- Knowledge of underwriting guidelines, HMDA reporting, appraisals, and title reports
- Excellent communication and business writing skills
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment
- High integrity, detail-oriented, with risk evaluation skills
- Leadership and supervisory skills
- Financial analysis and negotiation skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications
Role Description and Essential Duties
- Originates personal mortgage loans within or exceeding budgeted goals
- Develops and implements effective mortgage origination policies and procedures
- Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and conducts periodic reviews
- Achieves origination goals, monitors staff productivity, and improves service delivery
- Tracks workflow, ensures documentation accuracy, and manages deadlines
- Prepares timely and accurate origination reports
- Coordinates staffing, schedules, and oversees origination activities
- Leads business development efforts and community engagement
- Provides leadership, conducts staff meetings, and manages performance evaluations
- Supports staff training and development
- Represents the credit union externally and maintains professional relationships
- Maintains communication with senior management and completes required documentation
- Stays updated on mortgage regulations and completes special projects
- Ensures work areas are maintained and complies with BSA rules
