Trans Ova Genetics is seeking a Cattle Production Assistant to support our professional service team in cattle procedures, data entry, and organization. As a Cattle Production Assistant, you would play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Trans Ova Genetics’ professional services team. This position is responsible for assisting with advanced reproductive procedures and ensuring accurate data collection and entry. The role requires hands-on involvement with both donor and recipient cattle, utilizing low-stress livestock handling techniques to ensure animal well-being and procedure success.
This position demands a strong work ethic, a high level of attention to detail, and a commitment to supporting Trans Ova's mission of delivering cutting-edge reproductive technologies in a professional and client-focused manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist professional service team with chute side procedures.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures and data entry.
- Maintain a clean and safe work space in cattle handling areas.
- Prepare chute rooms for daily work load as outlined by weekly work schedule.
- Low stress handling of recipient and donor animals through working facilities.
- Provide timely and excellent client service.
- Assist with recipient and donor activities as needed including weekend rotations.
- Organize and maintain inventories needed for procedures.
- Maintain a professional image reflective of Trans Ova’s industry position.
- Follow Trans Ova’s policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:
Job requires ability to work in adverse/outdoor conditions, good physical mobility and above average strength/conditioning. Must be able to operate a motor vehicle. Animals, especially if handled improperly, can cause injury. Ability to lift 50 lbs. and be on feet walking or standing for long periods of time.
Other skills/experience:
Must be organized and have effective communication skills.
Excellent cattle handling skills and patience are required.
