Manufacturing Director
We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Director for our client, a leader in the CPG industry.
Job Description
Work cross-functionally to develop and implement a 3-year strategic plan and annual operating plan, proactively identify key opportunities, and link strategy to action to enable safe, reliable, flexible, and cost-efficient manufacturing capabilities that provide a competitive advantage.
Partner with multi-functional leads to define and meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and engagement goals. Establish strong governance to review and control operational performance and continuous improvement plans, embedding a zero-loss mindset to deliver best-in-class results.
Provide coaching on IL6S (Integrated Lean Six Sigma) practices and phase journey as per masterplan. Model values and principles through effective coaching, mentoring, and developing a self-sufficient, high-performing team.
Protect asset value through appropriate needs assessment and spend planning.
Ensure manufacturing standards, governance, and compliance are in place, understood by all employees, and regularly monitored for adherence.
Lead talent management, capabilities, and engagement initiatives. Attract, retain, and develop critical talent, and build capability at all levels to sustain workforce excellence.
Interface with internal and external stakeholders to establish effective relationships, align priorities, and support company goals and reputation.
What You Will Bring
A desire to drive your career forward, with experience and knowledge including:
Significant experience leading manufacturing operations in a fast-moving FMCG environment, with a track record of delivering results. Deep knowledge of GMP, process improvement, technology application, cost management, engagement strategies, TPM, 5S, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and related tools.
Excellent communication, coaching, leadership skills, and proficiency in analytics, problem-solving, team building, financial acumen, project management, and manufacturing equipment.
Experience collaborating with supply chain and commercial functions, managing relationships with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Logistics, Customer Service, and Sales.
Responsibilities Include:
Lead day-to-day operations of the facility.
Collaborate with Quality to ensure product consistency and monitor scrap rates.
Review production schedules to meet inventory and efficiency goals.
Support safety and housekeeping programs, ensuring team alignment with safety and quality standards.
Develop and manage the manufacturing budget.
Drive investments for long-term competitiveness.
Update conversion and yield roadmaps, identify projects for cost reduction.
Support category growth initiatives and product launches.
Analyze workforce needs and optimize operational efficiency.
Implement and promote the IL6S culture.
Remove production constraints and allocate resources effectively.
Foster a zero-loss, engaged culture.
Manage union relationships and support negotiations.
Ensure compliance with policies, safety, security, and environmental standards.
Skills / Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a related field; master's preferred.
15+ years of experience in a supply chain environment.
Proven TPM and Six Sigma expertise.
Strong leadership, change management, communication, and team-building skills.
Experience working with labor unions is preferred.
The salary range is $141,000 - $246,750, dependent on experience and skills. The position offers a competitive bonus and long-term incentives, along with comprehensive benefits including health insurance, wellness programs, retirement plans, paid leave, and more.
