We are recruiting for a Manufacturing Director for our client who is a leader in the CPG industry.

Job Description
  • Work cross-functionally to develop and implement a 3-year strategic plan and annual operating plan, proactively identify key opportunities and link strategy to action to enable safe, reliable, flexible, and cost-efficient manufacturing capability that is a demonstrable competitive advantage for our client.
  • Partner with multi-functional leads to define and meet safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability, and engagement goals. Establish a strong governance to review and control operational performance and continuous improvement plan and embed a zero loss-mindset across the site to deliver against best in class.
  • Provide coaching toward implementation of IL6S (Integrated Lean 6 Sigma) ways of working and phase journey as per masterplan. Role model values and principles through effective coaching, mentoring and development of the multi-functional team. Develop self-sufficient teams.
  • Accountable to protect the value of the assets through appropriate assessment of needs and planning of spend.
  • Lead and be accountable for having all manufacturing standards, governance, and compliance requirements in place. Guarantee that they are understood by all employees at the site and regularly reviewed and monitored for compliance to policy.
  • Lead and be accountable for talent, capabilities, and engagement for the plant. Identify and implement critical levers to attract, retain and develop critical talent. Develop capability at all levels, technical and behavioral, to build a sustainable workforce profile for the future.
  • Interface with key stakeholders, internally and externally, to establish/maintain effective relationships and align priorities in order to deliver company goals and build the company equity and image.
What you will bring

  • Significant experience in leading manufacturing operations in a fast-moving manufacturing environment (FMCG experience) delivering exceptional results. A career built at the front line and/or Manufacturing Manager level. Verifiable and intuitive knowledge of fundamentals of good manufacturing practices (GMP), process improvement and optimization, reconfiguration, and application of new or enhanced technology, cost and variance management, engagement/motivational levers for shopfloor-based performance, TPM (total productive maintenance), 5s, lean manufacturing, 6 sigma tools and concepts.
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written), coaching, and leadership skills in a team-based environment. Demonstrated abilities in analytics, problem solving and team building. Strong financial and business acumen, project management skills, and knowledge of industrial maintenance and manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience in interfacing with the broader supply chain and commercial functions and a high level of capability around managing relationships and outcomes with Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Logistics, Customer Service, Category Management and Sales.
Responsibilities include:
  • Provide leadership for the successful day-to-day operation of the facility.
  • Work closely with Quality personnel to review product consistency while monitoring scrap rates to determine trends and areas of improvement.
  • Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.
  • Initiate, maintain, and support a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives, and ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aligned and aware of the safety and quality culture and guidelines.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain the budget for the manufacturing operation.
  • Drive investment to ensure long-term conversion and competitiveness of the plant.
  • Elaborate and/or update an annual conversion and yield roadmap for the plant and identify specific projects to satisfy cost reduction targets as per productivity strategies.
  • Execute our client's category growth initiatives and new product launches.
  • Analyze workforce requirements and ensure the Plant operates in the most efficient and cost-effective manner.
  • Lead the implementation, progression, and culture of the Integrated Lean Six Sigma program.
  • Remove production constraints. Allocate human and equipment resources and direct production employees to attain all established goals.
  • Ensure a zero-loss, 100% engagement mindset throughout the facility.
  • Coordinate the relationship with our union workforce and support the negotiation of union contracts as needed.
  • Ensure that all plant functions are working under best possible practices and environment regarding all existing internal and external policies and procedures in respect of our client's role within the community (i.e., safety regulations, plant security, and environmental policies).
Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or technical field. Preferrable master's in engineering or business.
  • 15+ years of experience within a supply chain environment.
  • Demonstrated TPM and Lean/Six Sigma experience.
  • Ability to blend people into teams and create strong morale and spirit in their work. Defines success in terms of the whole team.
  • Effective at leading and managing change.
  • Trust and empowers team, while holding team and others accountable.
  • Strong communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to deliver results through being an inspirational leader.
  • Experience dealing with labor union preferred.


The base salary range for this position is $141,000 - $246,750; the exact salary depends on several factors such as experience, skills, education, and budget. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for participation in a highly competitive bonus program with possibility for overachievement based on performance and company results. It is eligible to participate in the long-term incentive program.
