Job Overview:

Search Solution Group is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer on behalf of our client, a leading designer and manufacturer of shock absorbers, liquid springs, and other hydro-mechanical energy management products. This role is critical to ensuring efficient production, supporting design and engineering efforts, and driving continuous improvement. The Manufacturing Engineer will balance time between hands-on shop floor responsibilities and engineering desk work, playing a key role in maintaining product quality, supporting operations, and enhancing overall performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide hands-on support to production operations, balancing time between shop floor tasks and engineering design (approx. 50/50).
  • Interpret and create technical drawings and blueprints that support manufacturing processes.
  • Drive small-scale continuous improvement initiatives, with the opportunity to grow into larger independent projects.
  • Collaborate with peers and provide coaching and guidance to team members, influencing production staff without direct reports.
  • Support project management activities, including task planning, budgets, and schedules, with potential to lead projects as experience develops.
  • Use CAD software (SolidWorks preferred, other CAD systems acceptable) to support design and manufacturing.
  • Work within the company's ERP system (SightLine) to manage engineering and production tasks.
Requirements Include:

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering preferred, though not required. Equivalent technical training or relevant hands-on experience is acceptable.
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical or manufacturing engineering.
  • Prior experience in industries with strong quality systems (e.g., automotive, aerospace) is highly valuable.
Skills:
  • Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings/blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently on projects.
  • Balance of shop floor technical ability and engineering desk skills.
Certifications:
  • None strictly required, though industry-related certifications are a plus.
Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems and processes.
  • Understanding of quality systems and their role in improving operations.
Key Competencies:
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Peer-to-peer and coaching attitude with leadership presence on the floor.
  • Ability to influence and support teams without direct management responsibility.
  • Self-motivated and capable of driving projects with limited supervision.
