Summary

The Manufacturing Engineer applies engineering theory and principles to solve problems related to industrial layout and manufacturing production. This role involves creating engineering drawings, reading and interpreting blueprints, and optimizing production processes to improve efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Study time, motion, methods, and speed involved in maintenance, production, and other operations to establish standard production rates and improve efficiency.
  • Review worker logs, product processing sheets, and specification sheets to ensure adherence to quality assurance specifications.
  • Approve work assignments based on worker performance, machine capacity, production schedules, and anticipated delays.
  • Analyze charts, graphs, and diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, and machine utilization.
  • Evaluate data and reports to validate or identify deviations from existing standards.
  • Recommend modifications to quality or production standards to achieve optimal quality within equipment capabilities.
  • Suggest revisions to methods of operation, material handling, equipment layout, or other processes to increase production or improve standards.

Education & Experience

  • 10+ years of relevant experience required.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to facilitate and create all APQP elements, including Process Flow, Control Plan, and PFMEA.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Experience in assembly and test processes.

Soft Skills

  • Ability to facilitate and host cross-functional meetings (in-person and virtual).
  • Strong organizational skills to manage priorities across multiple projects.
