Overview
We are seeking a skilled aPriori Consultant to support our client’s initiative in upgrading and expanding their Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and should-cost analysis capabilities. In this role, you will leverage aPriori’s digital manufacturing simulation tools to help the engineering and sourcing teams make data-driven decisions, optimize product cost, and improve manufacturability early in the design process.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with aPriori software, strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, and the ability to bridge the gap between engineering design, sourcing, and cost modeling.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for aPriori software implementation, configuration, and usage.
- Perform should-cost analysis across mechanical components, assemblies, and systems using aPriori’s digital manufacturing platform.
- Partner with product design teams to evaluate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) early in the product lifecycle.
- Generate and interpret cost models to identify cost drivers, highlight savings opportunities, and support sourcing negotiations.
- Collaborate with engineering, sourcing, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment on cost targets and manufacturability standards.
- Develop best practices, training materials, and process documentation to maximize adoption of aPriori within the organization.
- Support continuous improvement of cost modeling accuracy through calibration, updates, and validation of manufacturing process data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with aPriori software (configuration, cost modeling, or DFM analysis).
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, casting, molding, stamping, and assembly.
- Experience in should-costing, cost engineering, or value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) is preferred.
- Ability to interpret CAD data, drawings, and product specifications.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Previous consulting, technical support, or engineering role with cross-functional exposure is a plus.
