Overview

Responsibilities

  • Plans, directs, and coordinates manufacturing processes in an industrial plant; will assume supervisor responsibilities as defined by the Operations Manager.
  • Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods.
  • Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow; designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.
  • Confers with planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods.
  • Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts; evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards.
  • Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to inform management decisions.
  • Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
  • Solves problems promptly; collaborates in group problem solving; works daily with production operators to understand equipment and improve machine run times.
  • Engages in project management tasks as needed and communicates effectively (oral and written).
  • Maintains safety, ethics, organizational support, and adaptability in daily operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; metalworking (forming, rolling, etc.) experience required; aerospace fastener experience preferred.

Physical Demands

Regularly seated; frequently standing; occasionally walking; may lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Vision requirements include near, far, and color vision.

Work Environment

Typical on-site manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.

Compensation

Pay range: $95,000–$110,000 per year. Compensation varies by qualifications, skills, experience, and location. Some roles may include incentives such as equity, commissions, or performance bonuses. Details provided during interview.
