Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field and 5 years professional experience or high school diploma and 9 years professional experience
- US Citizenship required
- Demonstratable experience implementing lean manufacturing principles and practices
- 6-Sigma Green Belt certification
- Understanding design to improve manufacturing systems or related processes to optimize the use of computer networks, robots, materials, and the automated aspects of manufacturing production, upgrades to facility layout, or changes to processes to reduce costs and improve product quality
- Familiar with AutoCad, Inventor, and/or other Cad type software
- Knowledge in aspects of design, development, and research
- Communicate effectively; both written and oral
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6 Sigma Blackbelt certification
- Familiar with Minitab or other similar software used with collecting and analyzing data on processes and production through observations of work activities, time studies, and ERP data inputs
- Experience with wire assembly manufacturing and testing
- Experience with robotics manufacturing and testing
- Experience with presenting analysis and recommendations to management and other stakeholders
- Communicate effectively; both written and oral
Physical Requirements:
- Sedentary work exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

Remotec is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team of diverse, qualified individuals. The Manufacturing Engineer works at the Remotec Facility in Clinton, TN. The Clinton facility manufactures Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) robotic equipment.
Our Manufacturing Engineer performs a variety of engineering related duties in the manufacturing and industrial engineering disciplines. Ability to use advanced theory, mathematical, scientific, or engineering principles to solve problems, conduct testing, prepare documentation, create applications, or devices in the completion of their work. Assist in design and development of systems, testing, and validation of solutions for assembly of items. Specific tasks include:
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and practices. Lead 5S implementation as well as identify, design, and execute specific Kaizen events that drive continuous improvement
- Develop and implement work center/technician work instructions based on engineering design documentation
- Develop and implement standardized assembly processes to ensure repeatable outcomes
- Identify, design, and implement assembly fixtures/tooling and aids to improve both manufacturing efficiency and repeatability
- Supports design and/or fabrication of electrical, mechanical, or electronic systems, assemblies, and sub-assemblies
- Ability to work in a team environment. Assists in reviewing procedures to ensure that the test and repair process is complete
- Reviews and evaluates failure data received from field locations, and offers recommendations for resolutions
- Provides technical solutions to a board spectrum of difficult problems
- Works cross functionally with production technicians, engineering, quality, and organization leadership
- Supports briefings and participates in technical meetings for internal or external representatives concerning specifics to operations
- Performs other related tasks as assigned
