Overview

Unison is the leading provider of differentiated engine controls, accessories, and performance monitoring solutions in the Aerospace, Defense & Space segments. As the Manufacturing Engineer, you will play a key role in overseeing the manufacturing processes for Space Ignition Systems. While working within established functional practices and procedures, you\'ll have the autonomy to drive execution and make decisions with guidance when needed.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Apply in-depth expertise in a technical discipline, leveraging prior experience to implement policies and strategies effectively.
  • Serve as an individual contributor demonstrating strong interpersonal skills.
  • Provide informal mentorship and guidance to new team members to support their growth and integration.
  • Contribute to production and development activities, focusing on the creation and refinement of new products and processes.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between the manufacturing floor and design engineering teams.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work instructions and methods to ensure consistent and efficient operations.
  • Support cost-out initiatives and lean improvement efforts, including activities aligned with the FLIGHT DECK methodology.
  • Participate in loss reduction exercises to enhance operational efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Collaborate with customer technical representatives to address requirements and resolve technical challenges.
  • Innovate and implement new tooling processes to support manufacturing needs.
  • Provide comprehensive support to the manufacturing engineering team in Norwich, NY, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor\'s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing and/or engineering).

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience in component-level manufacturing and systems testing.
  • Electronics education (Technician or Engineer) is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to analyze and resolve complex problems effectively.
  • Skilled in documenting, planning, marketing, and executing programs.
  • Solid project management capabilities with a track record of success.

Compensation and Benefits

The base pay range for this position is $64,600 - 71,000. This position is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of base salary. This posting is expected to close on October 17, 2025.
