Job Description

Duties:

1. Perform Corrective Maintenance on manufacturing equipment that includes automated fillers, bottle cappers, labelers as well as manual printers, centrifuges, ovens, distillers, chillers, vacuum systems, fermenters and similar equipment.
2. Perform Preventative Maintenance on site equipment and ensure all PM’s are completed before due dates.
3. Identify and implement solutions for equipment and site safety findings.
4. Assist in design, development, build and management of new production equipment and processes.
5. Design and implement hardware and software improvements to instruments, processes and equipment.
6. Create or modify protocols for equipment or processes.
7. Maintain adequate spare parts on site for manufacturing equipment.
8. Identify solutions and concepts for engineering problems.
9. Independently conduct engineering experiments; interpret results and present findings to stakeholders and implement solutions.
10. Assist in conducting equipment validations.
11. Create layout design for new equipment transferring to site.
12. Plan and manage projects according to timeline and budget.
13. Write requirements and specification documents for new equipment and technologies.
14. Travel to vendor and other ThermoFisher sites as needed (approximately 20% of the time).

Qualifications

Skills:

1. 2-3+ years of equipment repair experience is required.
2. Knowledge and experience of equipment automation, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, vacuum, fluidics and software are required.
3. Experience in Biotechnology Manufacturing is a plus.
4. Experience with instrument assembly, manufacturing, and testing.
5. Experience building, assembling, wiring equipment.
6. Experience with ISO 9001, 13485 and or GMP a plus.
7. Six Sigma and/or Lean Manufacturing is a plus.

Education:

BS in Electrical, Mechanical, or Biomedical Engineering or AS/Vocational degree in an applicable discipline with relevant experience.
