Manufacturing Supervisor role at Chomarat North America. This position is on 2nd shift (M/F 4p-12a regular shift).

Chomarat North America is part of Group Chomarat, a fourth generation family-held global business focused on the composites, automotive, construction and fashion industries, with manufacturing locations in Europe, North America, Africa and China. The Supervisor will work under the direction of the Construction Plant Manager, leading and directing production personnel and operational processes within the construction business unit. The role combines office work with hands-on supervision on the production floor, focusing on team development, customer satisfaction for quality and delivery, process stability and efficiency, and developing the process and technical expertise to meet objectives. The Supervisor will monitor performance, ensure training is delivered, and build a successful team.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain key metrics to communicate expectations and monitor safety, quality, labor, material, overhead, cost, processes, workforce, maintenance, housekeeping and inventory.
  • Analyze metrics to identify negative trends, communicate concerns and take corrective action as needed.
  • Coordinate business objectives and plan/work to meet production requirements.
  • Participate in planning and logistics processes; recommend workforce needs.
  • Follow quality control procedures to ensure finished products meet or exceed customer and internal expectations.
  • Manage employee evaluation program for direct employees.
  • Communicate effectively to drive collaboration, sustain positive team morale, and foster teamwork.
  • Follow maintenance programs for equipment needs.
  • Uphold and enforce company policies and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Intermediate software skills with MS Office and manufacturing systems (production, inventory).
  • Strong mechanical understanding and experience with manufacturing equipment to guide others on machinery and processes.
  • General math skills for troubleshooting and trend analysis; ability to perform general calculations.
  • Good critical thinking, analytical judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to read and interpret policies, specifications and documentation.
  • Ability to maintain composure, manage a team under pressure, and promote respectful, positive teamwork.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision; understand business implications of actions.
  • Moderate lifting up to 50 lbs; climbing up to 10 feet; ability to stand/walk and handle repetitive motions on the production floor.
  • Vision adequate to read specifications and records; attention to detail with fine yarns and equipment operation.

Education/Knowledge

  • Technical or Management degree with at least 3 years of recent manufacturing leadership or staff development experience, preferably in textiles; or an equivalent combination of education/experience.
  • Significant experience with MS Excel; Dynamics AX experience is desirable.
