Manufacturing Engineer – Wausau, WI. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Wausau, WI. Base pay range

$91,000.00/yr - $109,500.00/yr

What You Will Do

  • Identify, develop, and implement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and efficiency across multiple departments.
  • Manage Capital Projects
  • Define scope, justification, budgets, and execution plans for facility capital investment projects in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Partner with department leaders and employees to identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable strategies.
  • Analyze Data for Insights
  • Collect, review, and interpret data to uncover trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
  • Train and Develop Teams
  • Lead workshops and training sessions on Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Monitor Performance Metrics
  • Track progress against project goals and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership.
  • Develop and implement SOPs and best practices to ensure efficiency and consistency across operations.
  • Facilitate Problem-Solving
  • Use Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis tools to resolve issues and eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Document Projects and Outcomes
  • Maintain detailed records of initiatives, including goals, timelines, progress, and results.
  • Support Change Management
  • Help guide teams through organizational changes, ensuring adoption with minimal disruption.

What You Will Need

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certification: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
  • Experience: 3–5 years in a continuous improvement or process improvement role within a manufacturing environment (steel fabrication experience is a plus, but not required).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and statistical analysis software.
  • Core Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
  • Collaboration: Ability to influence and work effectively across teams without direct authority.
