Manufacturing Engineer – Wausau, WI. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Wausau, WI. This role is critical in driving continuous improvement initiatives, managing key projects, and enhancing efficiency across all departments. Base pay range
$91,000.00/yr - $109,500.00/yr
What You Will Do
- Identify, develop, and implement initiatives that improve productivity, quality, and efficiency across multiple departments.
- Manage Capital Projects
- Define scope, justification, budgets, and execution plans for facility capital investment projects in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Partner with department leaders and employees to identify improvement opportunities and develop actionable strategies.
- Analyze Data for Insights
- Collect, review, and interpret data to uncover trends, root causes, and areas for improvement.
- Train and Develop Teams
- Lead workshops and training sessions on Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Monitor Performance Metrics
- Track progress against project goals and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to senior leadership.
- Develop and implement SOPs and best practices to ensure efficiency and consistency across operations.
- Facilitate Problem-Solving
- Use Lean, Six Sigma, and root cause analysis tools to resolve issues and eliminate inefficiencies.
- Document Projects and Outcomes
- Maintain detailed records of initiatives, including goals, timelines, progress, and results.
- Support Change Management
- Help guide teams through organizational changes, ensuring adoption with minimal disruption.
What You Will Need
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Certification: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt preferred.
- Experience: 3–5 years in a continuous improvement or process improvement role within a manufacturing environment (steel fabrication experience is a plus, but not required).
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, and statistical analysis software.
- Core Skills: Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication abilities.
- Collaboration: Ability to influence and work effectively across teams without direct authority.
