Location: Oxnard, California

Duration: Up to 12 months contract with possible extension

Job Description

Pay Range: $30-$33/hr. The pay rate may differ depending on your skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs functions associated with all manufacturing operations, including working with engineers in set-up and calibration tasks, as well as performing rework and quality testing related to the production of parts, components, subassemblies, and final assemblies.
  • Uses sophisticated programs to collect and evaluate operating data to conduct on-line adjustments to products, instruments, or equipment.
  • Determines and may assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process.
  • Works with engineers in conducting experiments.
  • Technician could end up performing any number of tasks, such as assembling large tooling structures, using two-part epoxies for bonding, assembling small/delicate mechanical flight hardware, working with and assembling composite structures, and sewing/stitching mesh fabric.
  • Using assigned work instructions and assembly drawings to perform an assortment of Technician tasks.
  • Knowing and understanding how to read blueprint type assembly drawings is a big plus. Significant on-the-job type training.

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience with all common mechanical hand tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with fasteners and torquing mechanical fasteners.
  • Ability to read and understand blue-print style mechanical drawings.
  • There is no ideal candidate background or “years of experience.” An ability to learn quickly, follow instructions, ask questions, and fit in within a “team” working environment is most important.
