Overview

Job Summary:

Performs basic cleaning duties and specific custodial functions which include removing trash and recycling from offices and break rooms, dusting, restroom cleaning, sweeping floors, and operating a floor scrubber. Includes minor maintenance such as changing filters/belts, changing bulbs, landscaping/snow removal, and escorting vendors. Eyewash inspection, emergency light inspections, and a monthly fire extinguisher inspection are to be performed at multiple locations. Must always work in a safe and professional manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Removes all trash and recycling
  • Vacuums all carpeted areas in offices
  • Operates cleaning equipment such as a floor scrubbing machine
  • Cleans breakrooms
  • Cleans restrooms
  • Manage vendors when they come on site
  • Other maintenance to be performed includes fire extinguisher inspections, bulb changes, filter changes, etc.
  • Landscape / snow removal
  • Safety compliance, inspecting fire extinguishers, emergency lighting, etc.
  • Administrative work

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Business Experience: 0 – 3 years
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend instructions including safety policies and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
  • Technical Qualifications & Skills: Must be able to operate basic custodial equipment, such as vacuum cleaners, carpet extractors and floor buffing machines.
