Job Description
The Custodian II performs moderately complex custodial work, including cleaning, disinfecting, operating floor maintenance equipment, and assisting in minor repairs. They ensure a safe, clean environment and maintain equipment and supplies. The role requires working under general supervision with some independence.
Essential Functions
- Perform custodial tasks such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and cleaning windows and fixtures.
- Maintain cleanliness of floors, restrooms, and other areas, ensuring safety and sanitation standards.
- Inspect buildings for cleanliness and repairs, and perform minor maintenance.
- Complete documentation accurately, maintain inventory, and protect confidential information.
- Support health and safety by providing a clean environment for patients and staff.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, sanitation, and infection control.
- Skills in using custodial equipment and handling chemicals safely.
- Ability to follow instructions, lift up to 50 pounds, and work on hard floors for extended periods.
- Ability to work harmoniously with others and adapt to irregular hours.
Requirements and Additional Information
- Minimum six months of custodial or environmental services experience preferred.
- Must pass background checks, drug screening, and registry checks.
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old; 21 for Waco Center for Youth.
- Flexibility in work hours and potential overtime required.
- Immunization compliance required, with accommodations available under ADA.
