Position

Forklift Operator - Avon Mill

Responsibilities

• Movement and storage of raw materials, ingredients, and finished products; inbound and outbound shipments; and production inventory needs.
• Work within our manufacturing group to support production operations.
• Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
• Assist in training new employees.
• Operate forklifts within production/packaging and warehouse operations; select, prepare, and load products for outbound shipment per customer specifications; and manage storage of materials.
• Receive, unload, and inspect inbound materials.

What You Have to Offer

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• At least 2 years of forklift operation experience.
• Experience in warehouse operations and use of WMS preferred.
• Forklift and/or other POV license/certification or willingness to obtain one.
• Basic computer skills to support daily warehouse/manufacturing operations (data entry, email, system navigation).
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to perform physical tasks for extended periods (standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling, twisting).
• Ability to climb or work at heights using stairs, ladders, lifts, or platforms.
• Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment (safety shoes, masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, hair/beard net, gloves) when required.
• Adherence to grooming requirements for a food manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet conditions and around high-speed machinery.
• Ability to work with allergens present in a food environment.

About Our Location

At our Avon Mill, we produce 50 lb bags of flour distributed to restaurants, cruise ships, hotels, and schools, as well as Betty Crocker dry mix pouches. The plant supports two product platforms: flour and dry mixes, with flour integrated into Betty Crocker mixes. We are a small plant with a great culture where you will get to know the people you work with. We produce approximately 1.1 million pounds of flour per day and about 100 million Betty Crocker pouches per year. When making our chocolate chip cookie mix, around 2,000 lbs of chocolate are added per hour to the packaging line.
