Material Handler is responsible for providing a continuous flow of product to the departments. This includes the safe handling of hazardous materials, components and area equipment, accurate account for inventory.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- 2nd Shift 130pm - 10pm
- Conducts daily/weekly safety inspections in his direct area of responsibilities- racking conditions, pallet placements on racking beams, including forklift inspection checklist.
- Daily am meeting with his direct report- discuss and act on any critical issues affecting production, including quality hold on components, ensuring rejected comps are placed in – Block Status in SAP-9999..
- Beginning and End of shift handoff discussion with afternoon shift leader.
- Cross-trained in other similar roles within the warehousing/storage MFG sites.
- Provides backup resource support to current supervisors-
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment
- SAP knowledgeable
- Follow SOP’s and/or Work Instructions
- Notifies management of any major discrepancies
- Follows FIFO
- Other specific duties as requested by management
- Available and willing to work overtime as needed
- Creates a positive culture in words/actions so as to increase respect/teamwork throughout the company.
- Other assigned work duties
Qualifications:
- HS diploma or GED required. Some college or technical schooling preferred
- Valid drivers license
- Experience handling hazardous materials
- Good math and basic computer skills
- Good mechanical aptitude and able to troubleshoot
- Team player with a 'can-do' attitude
