Starting at $28.00/hour for 1st Shift, with hours on the 1st Shift: Monday - Thursday, 6:15 am - 4:45 pm, with opportunities for overtime pay.

Responsibilities

  1. Summary: Reporting to the Welding Supervisor, assist the supervisor to drive production while managing safety, quality, productivity, and cost; provide opportunities for growth within a worldwide, growing, private company.
  2. Perform all wire feed welding positions for which certified or trained, including ASME code pressure vessels; production-type welding using wire feed arc welders on a welding line.
  3. Manage daily activities to meet the production schedule, keep lines running smoothly, perform smooth changeovers, and prevent bottlenecks.
  4. Repair tanks and be knowledgeable about all equipment in the area.
  5. Troubleshoot welding problems and adjust parameters to correct issues such as pin holes, underset, and high or low welds.
  6. Maintain a minimum of five welding certifications out of ten.
  7. Ensure proper staffing to support the line and rotate jobs as needed.
  8. Provide adequate training to new employees.
  9. Meet all safety, quality, productivity, and maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) goals for the area.
  10. Communicate clearly with supervisors and other team members at all levels of the organization.
  11. Monitor repairs and scrap and provide corrective actions to the supervisor.
  12. Demonstrate basic math skills.
  13. Ability to stand and walk for up to 10 hours per day and lift up to 50 lbs repetitively.

Qualifications

  1. Must have at least 1-2 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting; welding experience is required.
  2. Excellent written and oral skills; ability to read and understand blueprints.
  3. Ability to learn how to identify welding defects and use weld gauges.
  4. Excellent attendance and safe work history.
  5. Self-motivated with a positive attitude and ability to work under high-pressure situations.
  6. Leadership ability, initiative, and the ability to guide others.
  7. Ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
  8. Good understanding of ergonomics and its application to the work area.
  9. Willing to take charge and move to other lines as needed.
  10. Mechanical aptitude.
  11. Experience managing/supervising production workers.
