Job Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance Leadership: Provide day-to-day technical support within our General Fabrication, ASME Section VIII, and NQA-1 markets.
- Elevate the Process: Support key performance indicator (KPI) reporting and work on increasing project throughput, improving first pass quality, and ensuring on-time delivery.
- Inspection & Compliance: Perform non-destructive testing and dimensional inspections in accordance with industry standards, customer specifications, and governing codes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with vendors and external inspection agencies to ensure resolution of non-conformances and maintain adherence to project specifications.
- Audit & Review: Conduct internal quality system process audits and participate in pre-job contract reviews to ensure compliance.
- Documentation & Reporting: Revise and implement quality system procedures, policies, and work instructions to maintain quality integrity across the board.
Skills & Qualifications
- Certifications: AWS-CWI (Certified Welding Inspector) required. NDE qualifications (Level II in VT/MT/PT/BLT/UT-T).
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in an engineering or quality control role, or 10+ years in a quality control position.
- Technical Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of ASME Y14.5 specifications and the ability to analyze designs to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a focus on accurate reporting.
- Independence: Ability to work independently and guide coworkers as needed.
- Proficiency: MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
Education & Physical Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a quality-related field, or equivalent experience.
- Physical Demands: Ability to bend, crouch, and perform tasks requiring mobility in industrial environments. Must be able to lift up to 50-75 lbs and complete a physical assessment as part of the hiring process.
