ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Performs welding processes to repair and fabricate equipment, including Stick, MIG, TIG, Dual Shield/Flux Core Wire, Sub arc, and tin ware repair welding with minimal assistance.
  • Selects appropriate welding process based on repair requirements.
  • Sets up equipment properly according to the application.
  • Understands properties of various steels and welding metals to determine the best type for repairs.
  • Performs fabrication tasks such as line-boring and straightening.
  • Reads and interprets prints and drawings; creates prints or patterns when necessary.
  • Handles inquiries promptly and courteously.
  • Adheres to customer care standards and safety policies.
  • Supports training and team initiatives aligned with company goals.
  • Promotes the organization’s vision, mission, and values.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Advanced proficiency in welding and fabrication processes.
  • Ability to read blueprints and fabricate without prints.
  • Welding certification, preferably AWS certified.
  • Understanding of the metric system.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and reliable attendance.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or GED required; vocational associate degree preferred.
  • Extensive experience in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding.
  • Proficiency or certification in heavy equipment welding/fabrication.
  • Experience with CAT equipment is a plus.
  • 2-4 years of relevant welding and machine work experience; line boring experience preferred.
  • Must communicate effectively in English.

PHYSICAL CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, climb stairs, reach, bend, push, pull, lean, and twist for long periods.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs following safety procedures.
  • Must meet safety requirements and work in extreme temperatures and environments, including high noise, fumes, and temperature exposure.
