Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Welding Team Leader to oversee daily welding operations in both fabrication shop and field construction environments. This hands-on leadership role requires a strong technical background, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to safety and quality. The ideal candidate will lead a team of skilled welders, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of welders to achieve production goals and uphold quality standards.
- Assign daily tasks, track progress, and ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
- Inspect welds and final products for compliance with specifications and industry codes (e.g., AWS, ASME).
- Provide technical guidance and hands-on support in MIG, Stick, and/or Flux-Core welding.
- Enforce workplace safety protocols; conduct regular safety inspections and ensure OSHA compliance.
- Train and mentor team members on proper welding techniques, safety procedures, and equipment maintenance.
- Collaborate with Foremen and Project Managers to troubleshoot issues and optimize workflow.
- High school diploma or GED required; welding technical certification is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of welding experience, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, materials, and applicable safety regulations.
- Ability to interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings.
- Familiar with Colorado state safety and environmental regulations for industrial/construction sites.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- AWS (American Welding Society) Certification(s).
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, and climb for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Comfortable working in varying environmental conditions including extreme heat, cold, dust, and noise.
- Capable of wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as welding helmets, gloves, and respiratory protection.
- Must have full range of motion and physical stamina to perform manual tasks related to welding and fabrication.
- Able to work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
Hourly Rate: $35 - $42
