Overview
Robotic Welding Technician — Temp-to-Hire. Pay: $30.00/hr. Shift: 6:30a – 2:30p (start w/ day for a couple of months then move to night shift – 2p-10a). Night shift differential: $2.00/hr.
Position Overview: Seeking a skilled FANUC Robotic Welding Technician to program, set up, and maintain our FANUC M-710iC robotic welding cell, which includes:
- Robot on linear track
- Two work areas (dual station setup)
- One servo positioner per work area
- Programming performed with FANUC WeldPro
This person will be responsible for developing efficient weld programs, optimizing cycle times, setting up jobs, and ensuring weld quality. They will collaborate with engineering, drafting, and production teams to streamline processes and support continuous improvement efforts.
Responsibilities
- Program the FANUC M-710iC using WeldPro (offline) and teach pendant (online) as required.
- Optimize robot paths for efficiency, repeatability, and quality.
- Set up weldments in both work areas and configure servo positioners.
- Perform dry runs and first-article inspections to validate programs.
- Adjust weld parameters and torch angles to achieve quality standards.
- Troubleshoot robot errors, I/O issues, and perform basic maintenance.
- Collaborate with engineering/drafting to ensure fixtures and part designs are robot friendly.
- Train operators on loading/unloading parts and monitoring the cell.
- Document procedures, program revisions, and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience programming FANUC welding robots.
- Proficiency with FANUC teach pendant programming and WeldPro simulation software.
- Familiarity with robotic welding fundamentals (torch angles, travel speeds, weave patterns).
- Understanding of positioner programming and coordinating motion with robot tracks.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and weld symbols.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with multi-station setups and robot track programming.
- Familiarity with fixture design considerations for robotic welding.
- Exposure to ABB or other robotic welding systems is a plus.
- Basic PLC / I/O knowledge for cell integration and troubleshooting.
