Overview

Linn-Benton Community College (Albany Campus, Albany, OR) is hiring a part-time Learn/Earn Welding Aide. Location: Albany Campus. Employment Type: Learn and Earn, Student Employment. Posting Date: 09/15/2025. Salary: $15.13/hr.

Responsibilities

• Cut and prepare welding materials.
• Cleanup in all IA and IC shops as needed.
• Check and track steel yard and welding consumable inventory as needed.
• Fabricate welding parts as needed.
• Assist with shop organization and general duties under the direction of the Department Chairs and Instructional Specialists.

Required Qualifications

• This position requires current enrollment in the LBCC Welding program or the Pipe Trades program.
• Must maintain enrollment in at least 6 credits at LBCC, maintain satisfactory academic progress, and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better to be eligible to work in a Learn & Earn student employee capacity at Linn-Benton Community College.

Knowledge and Experience

• Students must be a student in the Welding or Pipe Trade Program(s).

Abilities

• Student employees must have the ability to perform all duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
• Ability to utilize metal processing equipment; training will be provided.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Physical labor involves lifting 25 pounds or more.
• All work is performed in an industrial shop setting at the LBCC Albany Campus.
• Most duties require being on your feet for much of the shift.
