S&ME is hiring: NDT/NDE Certified Welding Inspector in Nashville

S&ME is looking for a dedicated full-time Certified Welding Inspector to join our Construction Services team in Nashville, Tennessee.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections: Perform advanced NDT/NDE techniques, including ultrasonic testing (UT) and magnetic particle testing (MT).
• Lead projects: Oversee and guide testing assignments across multiple projects to ensure quality and consistency.
• Maintain equipment: Calibrate testing equipment and participate in quality system audits.
• Document findings: Generate clear and comprehensive reports to communicate results effectively.
• Perform fieldwork: Climb steel structures up to 200+ feet with fall protection and safety gear.

About You (Qualifications)

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience OR an associate degree in a related field.
• Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
• Level II UT certification.
• ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one method.
• Additional certifications (preferred but not required):
  • ICC Building/Structural Steel Inspection
  • Level II PT or MT certifications
  • Experience with Safety, DDC, NDT, or Radiation Training
